This subject deals with the continuum of dispute resolution procedures available in legal practice, including litigation, with emphasis on the skills of negotiation and mediation.

Learning outcomes
On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:

Identify sources of conflict and ways of dealing with them;
2.
Identify the characteristics and skills of the primary methods of dispute management;
3.
Appraise and select dispute management methods most appropriate to the resolution of various disputes;
4.
Employ negotiation principles and techniques to plan and conduct a mediation; and
5.
Reflectively evaluate personal planning processes and exercise of negotiation skills
